Bangladesh National Award-Winning Artist Tarek Amin to Unveil Second Solo Exhibition in London
LONDON, UK – June 7, 2025 – Renowned Bangladeshi artist and National Award winner, Tarek Amin, is set to captivate the London art scene with his second solo exhibition, opening at the prestigious Spitalfields Gallery from June 20th to June 27th, 2025. This highly anticipated showcase, arranged by the East London Academy of Art, marks a significant moment for the artist, offering British audiences a unique opportunity to experience his distinctive and acclaimed work.
“I am incredibly excited to bring my latest collection to London, a city with such a vibrant and diverse art landscape,” said Tarek Amin. “This exhibition is a culmination of passion and dedication, and I eagerly anticipate sharing these pieces with art enthusiasts and collectors here in the UK. It’s an honour to present my work in such a celebrated space as Spitalfields Gallery.”
The exhibition will feature over 60 original artworks, demonstrating Amin’s mastery across a diverse range of mediums including woodcut, lithograph, etching, aquatint, drypoint, pencil, acrylic, and mixed media. Visitors will be able to explore the depth and versatility of his artistic expression, which has earned him national recognition in Bangladesh.
British artist Frederick Jones has lauded Amin’s unique approach, commenting, “The figures in Tarek Amin’s woodcuts are sensuous, sensual, sensory. They may be sitting, standing, reclining, or floating suspended in an ambiguous space. Is this space architectural, abstract, or symbolic? Sometimes, it is marked like a clock with the hours suggesting a temporal matrix. The figures may be stretching or tensing, sleeping, or waking; whatever they are doing, the images embody bodily experience enmeshed in time.”
The official opening ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 20th, 2025, at 6:00 PM, inviting guests to be among the first to view the collection. Following the opening, the gallery will be open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM for public viewing. This extensive collection promises to offer a profound insight into Amin’s creative journey and his unique perspective on the world.
